Syncing Music?????

Hi Everyone, I did several searches and wasn't able to find anything so I thought I would bring it to the masses.

I recently got an iphone and am having some trouble loading music onto it.

what is the easiest way to load music onto your phone? It doesn't seem to work like an ipod where you drag and drop. So far I have had to create playlists for all of my music. Is that how it works or am I missing something?

Also every time I load some music and disconnect then reconnect later to add some more music do I have to resync what is already on my phone? So far it seems like if I don't do that it deletes what music was previously put on my phone.

As far as I've been able to figure out, it's the only way to do it and I hate it to death....

Then again, I don't keep a ton of music on there, so it's not a daily problem or anything, but yeah, very annoying!
