I want to backup two computers to one external hard drive using a cloning app like superduper! is that possible? and can time machine do that?

You need to partition the drive into two and then yes it works.

how do i partition it? and what, will it be recognized as two different hard drives?

use disk utility and yes it will be recognized as two HDs
