Stupidest question ever - Time Machine

Dear all

I have 2 quick questions about time machine

I presume with Time Machine that you have to plug an external hard drive in to back up to??

When I did it took about 18 hours to transfer 60 gig across, this seems a long time?

You need another drive, whether external or internal. The first backup takes ages, but it should be much quicker from then on :)

the first update is the longest. mine took a couple hrs
