View Full Version : This should have been Leopard's desktop

This is the kind of thing Apple should have used for Leopard's space theme. Looks much better on the desktop than their default wallpaper.

And this clock is active, not a static image. That would be a nice visual twist, instead of reflective dock and transparent menu bar.

The clock is active?

What are you using to do that, care to share? :)

Nice, but rather for the amateur astrologer. It doesn't tell you which constellation the planets are in

I would've hated that being Apple's default desktop.

Yeah that wouldn't have been too controversial  Why not put the islamic moon or a picture of Isis up there?

Seriously though the colors are nice regardless of the content.

That's quite interesting.

I don't like the external HD icons though. Their different vanishing points are very jarring. Whoever did those needs to read up on Apple's Human Interface Guidelines document.

I love Vladtudios wallpapers and wallclocks. Very cool designs.

Astrology? ...... ASTROLOGY?!?

And human sacrifice at MWSF. Woo-Hoo!

Astrology? ...... ASTROLOGY?!?

Yes ...... YES! Its amateur however. For answers and causes to present events, one needs real-time information on all the planets, their alignment, which constellation they're in, phases, etc. Its quite a precise science

I would have switched to a custom desktop right away if this was the case.

Ditto, it's much too busy for my liking. Mind you, I switched to a custom wallpaper pretty darn quick anyway, I always do. It just doesn't feel like 'my' computer unless I have a custom wallpaper. :)

Never mind the content, Im curious how you get an "active clock" on your desktop? Or an active anything for that matter?

Is it a screensaver set as the wallpaper? That's doable with a terminal command - I don't know it off the top of my head though.

You don't. OP is just talking out of his bottom.

But I'm sure apple could write something like that if they wanted to (actually, 3rd party screensaver-to-desktop software can do that now).

But SJ would never be so stupid to tarnish apple's public image with this kind of non-sense (no offense OP).

dam0dred beat me to it, with a link. I initially picked up the Christmas themed clocks, but this one is really cool. The astrology sign is a nice touch, although I don't believe in any of that. I really like the moon phases.
Attention to details...

I got lifetime registration at vlad's site and was not there for over a year - he really makes it worthwhile, lots of new content. The nice thing about owning a Mac is that wallpaper clock app is free, while or Windows you need to buy one (it' shareware). :)

Excuse my ignorance but do i need a third party app to run this wall clock?

That desktop picture is awwwwwwwwwwwwwwful...!!

It's too busy. It's just a visual mess- like a wall of static. Anything you put on your desktop is hard to visually see. It would NEVER be an Apple certified desktop. Not in a million years.

Different, cool.

Neat site too. I'd run that if I had a desktop mac.
