I moved all my music that i had put on my external drive from windows to my new mac. All is moved over however in every single folder with music i have the thumbs.db and desktop.ini files which annoys me. When i search for them all and try to delete them now it prompts me for my password, i enter it, it tries to delete them, and then fails with some kind of error, i forget im not at home right now but was just thinking about it.

Anyone got any ideas on why it wouldnt be able to delete them?

may be a sharing & permission problem... select all the files and do a secondary click. While the secondary click menu is open hit the option key. The "get info" should change to "show inspector". From here you can change the permissions of all the selected files. Or if you really bored, you can "get info" on each individual file and change the permissions one by one.😀
