Changing name of shared device in finder

I just turned on my wee MacBook and noticed in Leopard under the Shared tab it shows as 'my-name-com'.

I checked under system preferences > sharing and it says 'Mercury' and that I can access it through Mercury.local.

I was just wondering why this was - I want it to say Mercury )-:

Oh, and the worst thing is that it thinks it is a PC server! Nooooo!
