If it was going to be that small; they would not waste any space with an optical drive (hopefully)

This has been widely talked about...an optical drive? What were they thinking?

Oh, lame. An 8" iPhone with no regard for innard space. Great mockup.

The iPhone is 6 months old, THAT is their touchscreen device. They're not going to introduce anything similar if they have any sense. Sorry fanboys.

Best bet: 13" MacBook Pro / "Slim" MacBook

Yeah I bet it will be most likely a 13.3" MBP with aluminum and a real GPU.

The worst of both worlds.

What could you possibly gain from an opticle drive?
DVD watching ability?
Software installs directly instead of downloads or over connections?

Psh, id prefer it weigh less or have a larger battery instead of that.

Not a real keyboard, not a real computer.

There description of it in the DEC issue was assume

it had HDSPA
A BluRay Drive
A Wireless HDMI for "cable free hidef streaming"
32Gb or 64GB of flash storage
802.11n wifi
Bluetooth with A2DP

All these things in a 6"screen with a half inch thickness...

Seems plausible... :D Ha

Eughghgh horrible. I don't want a touch screen keyboard. They're horrible to use on small devices, even worse on large ones.

If Apple release that - I'll switch BACK to PC, because that's not where I want to be going Laptop wise.

that wouldn't be so bad if that was made into a tablet form and had a touchpad keyboard to keep it extra slim. defenitly needs tobe in a tablet form so you can fold and close the lid to protect the screen. make that a hd-dvd or blu-ray drive and now you're talkin :D

Yeah, a tablet is what Apple needs to make. But it NEEDS to have a keyboard, so it would be a proper laptop too.

P.S.: This is my first reply :)

No DVD drive and it is just a big iPhone. I hope apple are a little more imaginative.

I don't get why everyone seems to be frothing at the mouth for some pointless tablet . It's like they just neglect to mention the fact Apple only JUST brought out two touchscreen devices! You think they're going to be like "anyway, forget that, that was 2007. Check this ***** out!"

Look, Stuff can't even think of a purpose for the device.

"it's... just... for people that like cool things!" Yeah, okay, well done. Says it all.

I have to agree with jnc, there isn't much use for a touchscreen laptop. It would cost far too much for students to be able to buy it and use it on lectures(that's the only use I can think of) and no one else would buy one. Also it would need to have a stilus and that would be the end of multi-touch.

So yeah, good point, jnc.
