Sharp Aquos or JVC 1080p question with macbook?

Would these TV's be able to hook up to my macbook with the necessary connections and would it be a clear picture? One of my friends said you need a really really good expensive video card in your computer for that I just want to know if its true?

A 1920x1080 monitor should present no problem for your MacBook. You will need an adapter to handle the connection between your laptop's miniDVI and your monitor's HDMI.
