It is not likely that G5 motherboard upgrade will come out for G4 Power Macs, due to technical differences. Maybe it will, I just don't know.

But my question is, now that Power Mac line has gone over to 64 bit G5, do you think third party motherboard upgrade makers will continue building G4 motherboard upgrades for Power Macs? Should Motorola (or IBM) come up with faster G4, do you think they will utilize this and come out with faster G4 motherboards?

Dual 2GHz G4 anyone?

The 7457 is a faster G4. While the clock speeds are comparable to the revised 7455, there is room to increase the clock speeds further.

You probably will see 7457 chips in upgrade cards in the future, how soon is unknown. Availability and price are the top two concerns.
