I friend has purchased a unlocked US iPhone v1.1.1, is he able to simply insert any sim card into this and it will work immediately or is he required to run a program to get the sim to work? He'll be using a UK Vodafone card.

Thanks

Ok I've managed to test it using a work colleagues Vodafone sim card and it worked perfectly. GPRS and voicemail worked with one or two minor settings adjustments.

Is there any advantage to upgrading the firmware to 1.1.2 or is it easier and less trouble to leave it at 1.1.1?
