Top of the line Apple MBP: $4,125.98 USD
Latest Adobe CS3 Package for your laptop: $1,112 USD
Finding out an extra power cord for your laptop costs more than an ipod: pricelessly ridiculous
lol,
Does anyone know where you can get a power cord, "doesn't need to be long" for the MBP that doesn't cost you $70+ ?
Just curious...

Ok you are going all out and buy a top of the line machine, and can't afford a second power adapter? Well bring your main one around then. It's free.
I am pretty sure currently no company makes a generic adapter that goes with the magsafe though, at least nothing that is the size of the latest MBP power adapters.

Its not that I cant afford it, but why pay $70 if companyX makes them for $20, thats all.
Since they dont, no worries.

Not to nit-pick, but isn't an entire mag-safe adapter with cable $80, same as the cheapest iPod?

you have to get an apple mag safe adapter. there is no GroupX manufacturer that makes them for cheaper. Ebay is your best bet.

ill agree with the OP, it is a little frustrating to pay that much for the adapter.

You get an entire charger, 3 pin adapter and the long extension bit also. I have two as I am to lazy to carry around the house. So one stays up stairs and the other downstairs.

I've seen some modded macmini adapters with magsafe for mbp's on ebay for around $30, just gotta look around.
