I've had mine for the past three weeks and every once in a while the main menu just stops reading my fingers. I can lock, unlock and reset the iPod every time which always fixes the problem.

I don't know if it has to do with the altitude or colder weather (around 30 farenheit but inside of my coat pocket most of the time), but it's starting to worry me a bit.

While browsing the Apple site, I came across this relative to your post:

iPod Temperate Zone. Your iPod works best from 32° to 95°F. You should store it in environments of -4° to 113°. That’s 0° to 35°C and -20° to 45° for the metrically inclined. Keeping your iPod as near room temperature as possible (22°C) is ideal.
