So will you? - Of course it won't be anything like the iPhone launch, but still probably some fans will line up at the stores while they're closed :)

I for one probably will be going to my local one (12 Oaks, Novi, MI) :)

Apple won't 'air' the keynote in-store ....

Just to be the first to see and touch all the cool new stuff; who says anything about buying? I'm quite satisfied w/ my MacBook Pro and iPod Touch ;)

Who says they will be? - But it doesn't stop it from being fun, eh? :)

My experience has been that most really new products aren't in stores for a while. Exception being most ipods. Matter of fact, I remember going to an Apple store in Cleve. w. MacBook release and I knew more of the new product by monitoring web than they did! The super secret thing works both ways and Apple does lose some "gotta' have it now" buyers because they don't have the toys in-stock soon enough after the reveal, then they trickle in and people read about screens, heat, whine, airport reception, etc., etc., etc. and back off and wait for rev. B.

So no, I'll wait and call them to see when to expect my new slimmed down MacBook or super slimmed down mini MPB (crossing fingers......)

It was 6 or 7 years ago they did the keynote in - store but it was more hassle than it's worth with paying customers in the store @ the same time..

i might visit the store soon, but probably wouldn't "camp". doesn't seem like there's anything to camp for until a new/updated product comes and camping is kinda crazy anyway :o

No to camping. If a new MBP is announced and available same day, I'll be at my local store in 15 minutes. :)

If anything they sell really sells out that quickly, then I'll feel better being home ordering it rather than dealing with the crowds.

camp out for what? future products that may or may not ship soon? You can camp out, but you'd be the solo one and probably thrown out by mall security imho.

I miss the days of being able to go to the Apple Store and catch the live satellite feed of the keynote…

They need to start that back up, and lock every machine in the place to kiosk mode with the feed, really crank up the RDF generators, have the feed playing in all the storefront window displays…

The quickest way is probably going to be online ordering.

Sure, camp out near the Apple store... me and my Brink's truck full of cash, right? Alleged "airbook" price will make the original iPhone price look like an Aldi's sale on canned beans. I am excited about Macworld 2008 but not expecting I can spring for whatever's about to pop, even if it's ready to ship.

If i wasnt in school I'd be at my friends macworld party, and if i wasnt there I would be right in front of the rockaway apple store gate.

you know you can save $$$ by ordering from another site besides apple.com and they'll throw in a new printer and maybe RAM upgrade... Plus no tax!

Why would you? You realize they don't have the new products until a few weeks after right? Most employees won't know MacWorld is even going on I've seen this happen several years in a row.

I went to check out the new iMacs (the first intel ones) in 2006 at the San Francisco Apple store on the Friday after the keynote (a full 4 days) and not an intel anything to be found in sight. This won't be like the iPhone at all (not even a little tiny bit) any person who actually cares will be at the expo. Hehe.

Also they employees where prepared for the iPhone (obviously) there was black tarp up over the entire store while they were changing it up. So no new products are to be seen on the day they come out most likely won't be seen until at least a week after. It is unfortunate I know but please for the love of god don't camp out to see what will likely be nothing hugely revolutionary if its there at all.

Also at the other people. There will be no launch event nor will they close for a minute on Tuesday. Sorry to burst the happy little bubbles we all live in.
