Ok, so i am poor and i like .mac, but cant afford it. I wont be renewing and i want to know how to change my apple ID so my itunes songs wont be messed up, because they are linked to the .mac email. I went to the thing on apples site, and it says .mac member click here, and it sends you to www.mac.com and thats it. nowhere in there can i find a place to change my apple id. i can change my name, credit card, everything, but no apple id. any help would be appreciated.

You can change your Apple ID from the "Your Account" selection from the Apple Store.

I'm actually attempting to do the same thing... however, I'm unable to due to the form never submitting past validating credit card information.

I've even called Apple and they're no help.

I did fire off an email to enrollment@apple.com and this was their response:

Thank you for your email.

We are unable to change your .Mac account ID which is what this account
is tied to.

You will need to create a new account using the
<mynewemailaddress> email address and User ID.

Thank you.

That's pretty weak. Oh well.
