is it possible if so can you guys help me out? I have an iMac and a MBP so both are macs so it shouldn't be so hard but I don't know how to do it. Thanks for your time.

In a way, I believe so, but it will require you to sync manually. You would have to select "Manually Manage Music" on your iPod (from inside iTunes), and click and drag each song/album/playlist to the iPod manually.

I use my iPod with iTunes libraries on two Macs and several Windows boxes. I just selected "Enable disk use" and "Manually manage music and videos".

Being cross platform is a bonus as well. I have a mac at home and use a windows machine at home. I sync at home and than turn on manual at work to play it through the computer. Works quite well.
