Edge and vpn

Hi, a noob here so be gentle with me!!
Got my new unlocked to o2 uk iphone a couple of days ago :) its fantastic - am so pleased, am on o2 (well tesco actually:rolleyes:) payg. Have been reading around a bit (this is a great forum BTW:)) for info. Everything works on my phone except vvm and edge.
Wifi is fine and surfing no prob until there is no wifi. I have read a bit about activating edge with APN (?) but when I follow given instructions I have VPN not APN and I don't know how to configure it. Can anyone help? I don't know what APN or VPN are:confused: Am not a mac user and find synching a bit confusing especially as I've had to enter all my phone contacts manually but but hey - its been worth it!!

I also don't know what ssh is or whether is needs configuring.

Any info would be sooooo gratefully received :)

Well I found all my contacts on my sim!! Can't save to phone tho, as its not registered. But at least they're there! Isn't intaller great? I've just found how to use it :D

Hi Guys I am sorry but I am also having a similar problem with my phone except I am in Russia trying to use the MTC network and I cant get it to work. I am not very technical with this stuff and hope someone can educate me.

you set the APN in Settings/General/Network

then you need to find the EDGE/GPRS settings for 02.... I saw a post on this forum with the settings - just do a search for EDGE settings, I'm sure you'll find it easily
