What up all! I am looking to get more into Video editing and stuff(imovie mainly... nothign to pro) and want to upgrade my current camera to an HD version. I have a Sony mini DV camera and like it a lot. Anyone have some suggestions? I know Sony but would venture into other makes. My uncle has a really cool Sony Handy Cam but it isn't MAC compatible.. stupid stupid thing. Anyway, let me know!

Please perform a search, many threads exist with this topic. The two main ones mentioned here are the Canon HV20, and the Sony HC7. Please help us by describing what you will shoot. Do you need Lanc, then you need the Sony. If you want to take photos with it, Canon uses standard SD, while Sony uses proprietary Memory Sticks. If you want an ext. mic, Canon has a standard mic jack, while I believe sony limits you by requiring a Sony Brand accessory, limiting you greatly on choices.
