Between the Dual 533MHz and the single 733MHz processor, which one is better? It seems that the Dual 533 would be better, but if that is so, then why were they sold for $1000 cheaper? Reason asking is I'm planning on buying one just to have and I was curious to which one would be better.

I'd go for two slightly slower processors then one faster one.

That should help as well. It's a great site. ;)

Thanks, I actually had that exact page opened while starting this post!:D

I was thinking of just buying the cheapest I found and doing a processor upgrade sometime. It looks like the 733MHz is 130 bucks cheaper according to that page. Can these machines do anything really useful in this day and age? I have a custom build PC with 1GHz AMD Duron and 512mb RAM so I'm sure it's about almost equivalent to this.

The Power Mac G4 makes a fine Tiger running Mac on a budget.

They're good machines for grandma. That's where mine is.

I'd go for the dual. I wouldn't spend more than $150 on it.

Ahh, okay. I see that they use the same type of RAM that my desktop uses. I can probably allocate some over and end up with 512-768MB of RAM. My main concern though is the not so powerful processors. I won't experience as much lag as PC running XP with a 500MHz will I? If I get one, I'll probably go with this one. It seems like the best deal.

I'll have to buy 10.3 or 10.4 however.

That's not a great deal. Over $300? Get a Mini.

Look on your local CL, and you'll likely find a bar better buy.
