Making A Custom Dashboard Clock Widget

Okay, I made a clock and made a widget out of it that flips around and everything, but I can't figure out how to make it into a functional clock, could anyone help with that? Thanks so much!
 
I tried to e-mail Apple, but they only sent me an e-mail with the link to the Dashboard tutorials, but nothing is mentioned specifically about a clock. Do any of you know how I could make my own clock widget? Thanks!
