How do i get a custom background and icons?

but the thing is i got 2 versions of summerboard on my installer, i tried to do da old one cause thats the 1 in the video, but i have the wrong firmware. do i do da exact same thing with the new 1?

ok well i got my background there but i had to uninstall summerboard after i made it set as backgrund.

now how do i change up my icons? thx

i couldnt find anything. i just wanna change up my youtube, photos and clock icon picture.

also is there a way to remove the contacts icon and ssh icon? or hide it maybe? to save space.

There are hundreds of posts on these subjects.
The search works, trust me, Ive used it.

Dont search for specifics.
Search for things like; Change Icons on Touch, or Custom Background on Touch.
Be vague.

We dont need anymore redundant threads.

I hate it when kids try to follow instructions they find on youtube and other crap sites. One of my friends was still trying to make a background by using large icons that line up. 2 weeks ago! People really need to stop going to youtube for instruction videos, especially when they are about hacking a device. Hacking methods change more rapidly than I urinate. Stick to wiki sites like touchdev, and the iPhone dev wiki. Don't follow instructions you find on blogs, youtube, any sort of video instruction, or old threads on here.

Well right now im at the part of making my own theme so im making the icons, right now im trying to get the icons i DONT want changed, but some are wierd like thersno preview so i dont know which one is the right icon. how do i know which ones the right icon?

k right now im just going with my instincts which is which. now alli need is to find the clock and videos icon. where is it? theres no clocks folder or videos folder in my applications folder.

You only need to add the icons you want changed to your theme folder. Summerboard will take care of the others automatically.

My advice: download a Summerboard theme from Installer and browse its folder to see how it's done.
