Hi all

i can convert video ok for Apple TV but I am finding handbrake is producing ultra wide video when I play it on my mac. I am now turning anamorphic off and clicking keep the aspect ratio etc

The thing is there has to be a reason as to why this is happening - can anyone explain the video screen sizes, like why are the output dimensions not simply the same as the input ?

Confessing my ignorance and confusion to all these formats, my new year's resolution to is learn this stuff :)

There are a number of threads over at the Handbrake forum on this issue. Go there and search. It has to do with how QuickTime reads anamorphic files and the Handbrake folks are waiting for Apple to adopt a uniform standard (or something like that).
