New Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - Kernel Panics

I just picked up an Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard and have been trying to get the thing set up on my 12" PB (867) since last night.

I've run the Firmware Update and the install software.

Every time I try to setup the keyboard in Sys Prefs > Keyboard + Mouse > Bluetooth, I get a kernel panic and have to restart the machine. The setup never finishes.

Any help out there for this problem. I could not locate any help articles @ Apple Support or elsewhere on the web.
