Sharing on a Mac Computer

I was look at my system preferences and under sharing there are many different options. Personal File sharing, Windows Sharing, and Web Sharing. I was wondering does web sharing mean you can share your internet through your ethernet cord to whomever connects? Just fill me in I am new to these options. Thank you :)

To do that, you need to select "Internet Sharing", then choose how you're going to share it.

Web sharing lets you serve web pages from your Mac.

File sharing lets you share files from your Mac.
