Hiya all,
just wondering,
which port is iChat using when doing voice over ip via the internet ?
Most of the people, if not to say all, i suppose got a firewall, and do want to open only a specific port, which they can forward to their machine. and not all the port up from 15000 as it seems that ichat is using a random port above the 15000'th. Any ideas ? I really have not a single clue of which port to open
thx in advance.

This might answer your question. First hit on Google with "ichat video port". ;)

Is there anyway to change the ports that iChat accesses?? On the university campus, there are open firewall ports that I can untilize, but I would have to be able to change those accessed by iChat.

it does tell me to open ports 188 for audio. udp of course, to prevent unused traffic for the handshake and so on. thought as well when i open the port 188 and forward it to my machine, nor when i put my machine on dmg it works.
strange....

just found the following.
will try it and tell you if it works.
