View Full Version : 12" PBook owners - how's your battery life?

I want a PBook, but I really really need at least 2 hrs of battery life. I plan on using a laptop in my C++ class lab, and it lasts over 1.5 hrs I think.
I will buy an iBook if necessary to satify that time period...

I get about 3 and 1/2 hours out of mine at 1/3 brightness. and just web browsing and what not. At full brightness and doing things like itunes and dreamweaver, about 2 and half to 3 hours. You wont have any problems. And the new ones get just about the exact same battery life.

The screen actually hurts my eyes if I turn the brightness to full, so I usually use it at 75% brightness. I think my machine lasts for about 3 hours on battery life, so you shouldn't have any problem with your battery life. ;)
I'm not quite sure how long I get because the battery life indicator on my brand new 1GHz 12" PB is a bit messed up, I believe.

well.. the battery goes alive much more then any pc.. with 70-80% brightness, its about 3 hrs maybe 3.5 hrs.. surfing photo stuff and so on...
what I'm curious about is actually how it is, when connected to internet via airport extreme??? how does the battery goes when you are cable-free??

I have Airport Extreme and Bluetooth running all the time on my 12" and keep the brightness pumped up too ... I get 2 1/2 hours off the battery.

Thanks for the answers so far!
I think I will be ok with the 12" PBook then. :D I'm very very close to a purchase (as soon as this week, W00T!).

With low brightness and airport on at thousands of colors I get about 4:12 on the battery. Not too shaby!

With brightness all the way up and airport on, I get about 2:45. Much more if I dim the screen and turn off airport....but if I do that then what is the point;)
