How do I check the remaining amount of hard drive space?

I am new to Mac. How do I check to see how much hard drive space I have left? I have been downloading several movies from Itunes and am concerned that I will run out of space. Would appreciate some help. Thanks.

Its on the bottom of every Finder window 🙂

right click the hard drive icon on the desktop and then click 'get info', it will tell you on that screen.

a good 3rd party app is WhatSize ... it will tell you how much space you have and what files are taking up the most room and what not http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21149
