Hey everyone, does anyone know what the minimum capacity is for Time Machine to work with an external hard drive? For instance would a 2GB iPod Nano work, or is there a minimum capacity? I tried setting up the iPod as the back up hard drive, but to no avail. Would appreciate the help! Thanks!😎

while i have not seen a minimum listed, the logical conclusion is the amount of space currently used on you hdd plus a good deal more the additional data added in the future. so while theoretically even a nano could work as t has a hdd, there is no way it will work.

If you start making exceptions in your home folder so you can use TM with an iPod nano etc then there probably isn't much point in the backup as you'll end up only backing up a small portion of your content.
