iTunes 5 features

Hi

with the rumors building about iTMS for PC and possibly iTunes 5, what new features do you think we'll see?

Personally, the biggest issue for me in iTunes 4 is that there's no way of knowing what the GB size of your 'checked' songs are, only the library total. Sure, I've made a 'matched song' playlist to check this for my iPod, but I'd still like to see it always there at the bottom.

iTunes is perfect for me. I can't imagine anything else it could do for me. Everything is great.

As for iTunes 5, I think the biggest reason that we won't see it this week, is that Apple is releasing a new OS next week. Wouldn't they want to bundle their brand new iApp with their newest OS?

I don't think we are going to see iTunes 5 soon.

I don't know if they already have some 3rd party way of doing this but...how about skins that you could d/l from the apple site to change the appearance of the app.

I don't think we are going to see iTunes 5 soon. First of all not all of the iApps are bundled with the OS. And even if the iApp is bundled, they could release it seperatly (like iCal & iSync) for users of the current OS.

Anyway, iTunes is seperate from the OS.

Built in file cropping/splitting (automatic would be very cool). For those bands who insist on making the last track on their CD 25 minutes long with 2 4 minute songs at each end. I reaslise you can do it manually using QuickTime Pro, but it would be nice to just click a button and have iTunes split out the two 4 minute songs and throw away all the silence from the middle.

It should automatically download album art. No more manually searching for it, no more 3rd party apps to find it.

Win Media Player has had it for a while now. There is no reason why iTunes shouldn't have it too. For once Apple please copy Microshaft!

sorry frisco, apple wont. they already had to take it that M$ beat them to fast-user switching. think they would do it again for their premier application? HA

it would make sense that apple releases itunes 5 this week rather than all at once when panther comes on the 24th. if they bundle it in iLife and stuff like that how are windows users supposed to get to it? so if they release it now then everyone can get it, windows, people that arent going to upgrade to Panther, and then eventually when panther comes out the rest of us. so it makes sense in a twisted insane kinda way
