Before I start off, there are quite a few people on these boards that are steaming at Apple right now. It's expected. Not 100% of people out there are going to like every single thing a company does.
Why is Apple so smart? Think of the format war, Blu-ray vs. HDDVD. They still haven't sided with one or the other, and after today they were simply incredible. No longer do you need an HDDVD player, a Blu-ray player, and a DVD player to watch movies. All you need is an :apple:TV or a computer with to iTunes.
Thoughts on this? It just occurred to me so I figured I had might as well post it. :)
