Present at today's Macworld festivities was actor, comedian, writer, and producer Sinbad (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005435/). Sinbad has acted in, written, and produced various television and motion pictures throughout the 80's through today, including the upcoming motion picture Stompin' (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0362691/).

I had a brief opportunity to catch up with him, and found that not only is Sinbad a long-time Mac user, but a frequent reader of MacRumors.

Word.

It's interesting to see who reads these forums especially famous people like Sinbad.

Didn't someone mention that Trent Reznor hangs out on MR too?

Whoa! He got old, I remember when he did that movie called switch or something like that...way back in the day.

(I hope he doesn't read that old comment.)

Am I the only one scared by this picture. I thought Sinbad died after he made that animated pirate movie....

I know one or two interesting people who read the board, though I doubt they'd appreciate being outed ;) Way back when I was working at CompUSA, I posted a funny misprinted Zune/iTunes tag and Apple Corporate came down on my head within 24 hours.

Cool little interview that brings up and interesting point...

With the exception of Time Capsule, everything released was leaked beforehand. I totally expected the MacBook Air thing to be nonsense. This has probably been covered somewhere else.

What up Sinbad!

I too dig that d-list stars read MR. :)

At the 1998 MacWorld Expo in NYC someone let me into the conference hall, and there was Sinbad, Douglas Adams, and a few others, talking about how much they loved the Mac. They were dubbed "Apple Masters"... it was pretty funny. Lots of hype.. and at the end, they signed stuff. I still have my MacWorld Expo '98 "I think therefore iMac" poster with Sinbad and Douglas Adams' signatures on it :D:D:D

I'm sure Sinbad will love to see himself described as D-List.

Sinbad is one of the few comedians I saw growing up that made me laugh hysterically while not getting really dirty (also didn't do the obvious "white people are different because...) Don't get me wrong, I love the old Eddie Murphy "Raw" and "Delirious," it just simply occurred to me one day his material is relatively clean yet hilarious and fresh. That definitely takes talent. Regardless of what anyone says, he's a great standup.
