Hmm - sounds like some of the built-in equalizers to me. Of course, I'm just running on laptop speakers at the moment.

Does it eat up lots of processor power? I'm on a lowly Yosemite (B&W) G3, and if it's going to take a big chunk of the clock cycles, it's not really an option for me.

will it work on an iPod? I dont think so,,,but does anybody know for sure?

It will not. It is a plugin for iTunes; a little mini-app that does audio processing on the fly. New iPod features need to be included in software updates from Apple.
