Ipod Touch Google Map Locate Work?

Anyone get the locate feature to work on the 1.1.3 Google map app for the touch yet?

There are three open wireless networks accessible from my home and all I get is 'Your location could not be determined'

I live in the centre of cardiff not in a rural area so, is this another US only feature?

from what i can see - it has to be a wifi network that has been driven past by one of them geeks scanning wifi networks.

mine just will not work
