How to retrieve stuff after a reinstall

Hi all,
I was wondering if it was possible to recover any data after an "erase and restore" of the OS?? My previous problem is detailed here. Anyway, i decided to reinstall the OS in the end and the one thing that i forgot to backup that i need were my keychains. Is there a way to still retrieve them or am i well and truly screwed??
 
In the practical sense, you're screwed.

If you got the $, you might be able to recover data at a recovery lab. If you wanted to do a text scan of the hard drive with diagnostic tools, you might be able to pick up the data if it hasn't been written over yet. But for data in which you aren't sure of the contents or format, it's gone.
 
yeah, it seems you are stuck. You should always back up everything to an external drive or a second partition before re/installing. Bummer man.🙁
