Optical drive noise

I have a week old iMac 2.4GHz and I've noticed that the optical drive is a bit noisey when in use. Is this normal?

Those are the sounds I hear. Are the drives the same on an iMac as the MB and MBP?

Those are the sounds I hear. Are the drives the same on an iMac as the MB and MBP?Yes, they all use slot drives. I've have had two iMacs and a MacBook. The sounds vary from machine to machine since the optical drives are made by different manufacturers but they're all sounds of a drive in working order.

Is there anything else you'd like to know? Are you having any trouble with the drive?

No issues just thought that the noise was odd(since this is my first mac didn't know if this was normal or not). Thanks for the replies.
