I just ordered an ATV and I didn't see and AV cables included in the package. My GF and also just ordered a new 40" LCD-TV and I want to be able to watch HD movies. What cables should I get in a reasonable price range but quality being a priority. -Brian

I ordered an Apple TV in March and it didn't come with cables. You have a choice of HDMI or component. My TV had a DVI input. Apples cables (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?nnmm=browse&mco=720F2947&node=home/shop_mac/mac_accessories/cables) were relatively inexpensive ($20).

If the new TV supports HDMI (which it almost undoubtedly does), then that is what you want to use. Apple's cables are actually reasonably priced. HDMI is a great connective interface.

I am part of a home theater forum, and everyone recommends getting any A/V cables from http://www.monoprice.com. They have super cheap stuff, HDMI cables are around $5 for a 6ft length. I usually buy 2-3 at a time because I always end up needing more. Don't be fooled into thinking you need to buy Monster cables; especially with HDMI, because it is digital you don't need to worry about gauge, the signal either works or doesn't. I have about half a dozen of these "cheap" HDMI cables and that all work great. I also buy all my speaker cable from them as well.

Thanks for the help. I'm glad about monster cables being a rip. Amazon has some HDMI cables for 2 bucks so I might get those. Cant wait for my new TV and my new Atv.

Just search for "HDMI Cables" and pick the cheapest ones there. I just did a search and there were some 10ft HDMI 1.3 cables for $5.50 each. For that price, just buy 2 so that when you ever get another device that needs it you don't have to order again.
