"The BBC's iPlayer service could soon be available through Apple TV, following Apple's adoption of a rental model for movies.
Ashley Highfield, the broadcaster's head of Future Media & Technology, believes that a move to rentals could enable the provision of iPlayer downloads for Macs."

This is great news for 2 reasons:

The iPlayer is fantastic and regularly used in our house, but only on a PC laptop since no MAc version is available
I'm looking into getting an Apple TV

The big Q for the future is whether 'Kangaroo', the prospective project to bring ITV, BBC and C4's video on demand services will use Apple TV too???

That also means it will be coming to the mac desktop as well because it is just an update to the DRM that apple uses that allows for limited time etc. This is brilliant and hopefully they could tie it straight into the iTunes store/iTunes.
