hello all !!! one question for the specs of MBA.

i'm not a heavy user, i just use excel, word, web-browsing, email and itunes.

and usually i have all the afirementiones applications running at the same time.

the 1.8ghz and the 2MB ram, are they enough for me ?

and something else, there is a growing rumour that the USB 3.0 would be around

soon enough. what the implication would be for the hardware with usb 2.0 ports ?

best regards to all !!!

So CA
a short q about the specs of MBA

I do photo editing, movies, etc on my Mac Pro.

Doing these tasks on a MBA is not anticipated, in the configuration the MBA ships with.

All other programs, tasks, will run fine on the MBA.

The MBA processor a duo-core 1.8 processor is faster than the 1 used in the first Mac Intel, and is certainly faster than any G5, or G4 processors Apple has used.

The limitation on the MBA stems from hdd capacity, and screen size.

Having mentioned that I'll add, the MBA allows the attachment of an extra monitor, up to a 23" Apple Cinema Display, and any USB external hdd. The external can be any size, even 1TB.

With the addition of those 2 items and a USB hub, the MBA's limitations, at least for me dissappear.

I believe having a Mac Pro, and an MBA will be as good as it can be. If you can afford it.

If you can afford the SSD definitely go for it.
