too bad there. It worked wonders for the US during the space race with Russia...its a shame.

So they're primed and ready to go anytime over the next couple days....

That is sad news. Just a difference in govenment philosphy. The Russians didn't provide live coverage either. I would hope that is this launch is successful, they will be encouraged to provide live coverage next time.

I think they figure they can't afford a mistake and showing it on live tv would be a disaster - since they're pushing it so hard.

And if it doesn't work correctly, we'll know - I wonder what would happen then....we have satellite coverage of the area and I bet the someone is watching this event from space 😉

I hope at least some footage of the launch and flight will be made available, especially because this is China's first step in aspirations for reaching the moon. It's too bad we haven't gone back, but at least someone is. Godspeed, China.

I think this is really cool how the Chinese are trying to be sucessfull in space, hopefully it will spur public interest in space expolration so we can get the ISS up to full capacity.
