So I was doing some normal stuff just now and it seems Finder has frozen. I cannot use Spaces, Expose, Cmd Tab, my dock froze when I clicked the Firefox icon, and even the Force Quit window is beachballing. I can move windows around but they stay in their order. iTunes was still playing, but it beachballs on it and every other program. Interestingly Azureus and aMSN still work fine. I can go through all the menus, including Time, Network, blah blah but not the Spotlight one. What's going on?

I'm not sure what the problem is, but if it keeps bothing you I think that Archive and Install is your friend.
Just Wondering, why are you so opposed to restarting?

Have you tried CMD-OPT-ESC > Finder > Relaunch?
Normally does the trick for me.

Yeah I tried that before it crashed but now I can't select anything inside it.
I'll probably end up restarting. I'd just prefer not to as I don't know the password to my own account. (My mom changed it)

ummmm, you may want to get the password, its kind of a good idea to restart your computer every other day at least so that you can dump the contents of your RAM...
