What if the MBA did the same thing that the iPhone did in September and dropped the price?

The iPhone was entering a whole entire new industry. Laptops isn't anything new to Apple. Apple's reasoning behind the iPhone price drop was to get better market share of the new industry they just entered.
 
It's a pipe dream. Heck, I don't even think the MacBook Air is overpriced. There's nothing else on the market like it.
 
the only component i see getting cheaper over time is the solid state drive. it's still a very new technology, and the capacities will only get larger and cheaper. how soon will we see lower prices? not in in three months, i'm pretty sure of that.

SSD making a price drop in three months?
I think next year is a better estimate.

I nearly had a heart attack. I personally think that is exactly the price point. I wish.
 
Congratulations on making a thread title that will attract a lot of people. I'm sure you are very proud of yourself.

As said, the only way I can see the price going down is by a reduced price in the components used inside. It's not an overpriced machine for what had to fit inside as far as I'm concerned, so when the price of SSD's goes down, the price will drop with it.
