FCP not opening, Help?

I am running FCP HD 4.5 on a panther machine. It has suddenly stopped opening. Error code is: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE 90x0002 at 0x0000000
Everything else seems to be running okay.
Is this an issue I need to take to the Apple Store? Can I reload FCP?

G4 1.25
1.7 gig RAM
lots of drive space
