You know when you delete a app off your Mac? Does it leave messy files deep in your computer like in Windows? like does OSX have a registry or something i should clean up? Also is repairing disk permissions the only sort of maintenance i need to do for my Mac?

Thanks.

Occasionally, the app will leave a few preference files and whatnot laying about, but they are *usually* small, and they don't take up any resources. And no, there is no registry to get all f'd up like it does in windows.

Don't worry about doing maintenance. An app usually leaves a PLIST file in your Preferences folder but it's tiny and has absolutely no bearing on any other aspect of your system. They're safe to keep.
