Can Apple TV be hacked/mod?

Can the Apple TV be modded with/for anything? Don't have one yet but thinking about it now since the Keynote... Things I wish it did:

1. DVR (tivo)
2. Live streaming of my computer so it would act as my screen.


But anyway, can it be modded for anything? (software, not really hardware because I can't sodder or anything like that)
