'mac' folder on desktop

a folder appeared on my desktop named 'mac' and I'm not sure what it is or where it came from. could have come from a download I'm not remembering, or it could have come from somewhere important and should go back there. when I tried to delete it, I was prompted for the system password, so I'm hesitant to delete it in case it's important. its contents are:

ActorControl
AnimatedGIFAsset
BuddyAPIOSXXtra
DPLib
DVDAsset
FileIOPPCXtra
FlashAssetPPC
FontAssetPPC
FontXtraPPC
IMLLib
MacromediaRuntimeLib
OSControlXtra

none of which have default open applications. Any ideas what this is?
