Hi all,

I have just recently purchased Leopard and I'm in the process of updating our five Macs to the new OS. I did my MacBook first and that went without a hitch, as far as I know.

Next on the list are my sons' G5 iMacs. I did the first one using an erase and clean install as I did with the MacBook and the install went apparently OK but there is a major problem right off the bat. I am unable to connect the computer to our Wireless network at all after the update. I go to the network preferences and I see the wireless LAN listed as expected. However, when I select it, it always times out in trying to connect to the network.

I have tried everything I can think of. I use a manual configuration scheme, setting my own IP information and so forth. I have even tried opening the network completely wide open, removing the security and the MAC filter. Still, I get a timeout whenever I try to join the wireless network from my kid's iMac.

I hesitate to think that it is a problem with my kid's Airport card. However, given the fact that I had no problems with the MacBook, I was thinking this might be the culprit. However, two important things blow this theory out of the water. First, I tried updating my other son's iMac and got the same result. Second, I took the first iMac into the Genius Bar and they were unable to find any problems with it joining local wireless networks in their store under both my fresh Leopard install and one of their boot drives. They suggested I retry the install. I did, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any familiarity with this problem?
