Hi, my printer is fabulous but old, and still uses a parallel connection. Because of this I have to use a D-Link print server connected to my router which is good because all of my computers can access it etc.
Ok, but I have since moved and my telephone line is now in my living room and therefore my wireless router is now under the sofa, however, I want my printer in my office where my Mac mini is. My Mac mini is connected by airport, is it possible to plug the print server to the Ethernet port of the Mac mini and connect it to the network this way? In other words can the Mac mini become a router?
I can't experiment yet as I need to buy some more cables etc, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it works before I spend time and money setting it up.
Alternatively, can I do it with an Airport Express Base Station? or finally does anyone know of a USB to Parallel cable???
Thanks 🙂
