Just took the plunge and bought a 15" MBP (after no news at Mac World, couldnt wait any longer!) - machine is really nice, but Im having a weird problem with my migrated account.
I set up the main account as an Admin account, and everything works fine in that. I then migrated my account from my old G4 iBook (which was running 10.3.9), and that worked far better than I expected - mail and mailboxes perfect, iPhoto library intact, contacts, bookmarks, all my files etc - all fine, it was like looking at the original machine.
What is a problem? I can't drag and drop anything. I cant move icons on the desktop, I cant drag files from one folder to another. Even in apps like Word, I cant drag highlighted text from one part of a document to another. Not with the track pad, not with my 3rd party mouse and not with an Apple Mouse. It highights the icon when you click on it, but it refuses to move. I can highlight text in word etc, but it just wont move. 😕
All these things work fine on the Admin account, but not on the migrated account.
I was on the phone to Apple support and went through the standard trash preferences etc - to no avail. The next step was to talk to one of their product experts, but by the time we got that far they had all gone home, so I have to wait until Monday to try again.
Anyway, if anyone here can help it would be greatly appreciated.
