Why didn't Apple combine all three ?

Am I the only one wondering about this ?

Time Capsule base model $299
Apple TV base model $229
Mac Mini base model $599
Total= $1127 before taxes and shipping if you buy online.

Why didn't Apple just combine all three into one machine ?

because that would remove apple almost completely from<$1000 computer market.

In a way, the Mac Mini can operate as a combination of all three already, it's just limited in some ways and better in others. If they gave the Mini a bigger hard drive and updated Front Row software (basically the TV software), it would essentially be the true combination.

One thing they should have done IMO is give an option for Time Capsule to have a superdrive built in for use as a remote disk...

... but it would be one heck of a machine if the MacMini had it all.

Yes, if they would update the mac mini with better outputs and the ATV interface I would drop the ATV and just buy another Mac Mini.
