peeps, i'm scared..

I've upgraded from Tiger to Leopard a few days ago, and i've noticed that now, on Leopard, i'm getting to see the Beach Volleyball Of Death (aka The Gay Freesbee, aka Spinning Marble hahaha) much more oftenly then when I was running Tiger...

And I'm not even running heavy apps on my mac...
i just get it when sufring Firefox, or even on iTunes...

(I have an Al iMac, 2.4 GHz, 1 GB Ram, Leopard)

SHOULD I DOWNGRADE, AND PRAY TO 10.5.2 TO COME WITH MAJOR
FIXES OR CONTINUE SEENG THE GAY MARBLE?

Booya!

Yeah, i suspected that the problem was the memory, but ya know.. is kind of lame that you have to buy more memory, since 1 gig is standard, and Leopard is ALSO standard..

you need more memory. 1G for leopard is not that ideal.

Then why did my MacBook come with 1G fitted and pre-installed with Leopard and I don't get beach balls when I use Firefox?

How full is your hard disc? OSX likes at least 10% free for virtual memory.

indeed, this remind me another possibility: upgrade system from Tiger to leopard might cause problem as well.

PS. where did you get that 10% number?

PS2. I still think 1G for leopard isn't enough.

I had the same issue on my Macbook with the standard 1GB RAM. I upgraded to 4GB and all of the issues with the beach ball was gone...it would come back time after time but definitely not as frequently enough to bug me. I suggest 4GB because when I run iTunes, Safari, Office 2008, and some other stuff in the background, the system takes up over 2.5GB RAM.

i have 2gb ram in my MBP and I had vmware running (using 1gb), and I was running azureus in windows (a known ram hog).

in mac os x i was encoding audio files, and importing album art into itunes, and watching a movie in quicktime.

no beachballs.

The hard disk wouldn't be a problem.
300GB available

I'm upgrading to 3GIG RAM...
