Eek! I just got myself a new black MacBook yesterday. I store my iTunes library on an external Lacie drive. I was transferring my iTunes library XML file between my old Dell and the new MacBook. It wasn't working properly. The next thing I know, there is suddenly 60GB (the size of my iTunes library) free on my Lacie drive and all of my music, tv shows and movies are gone!!!
I don't think I manually deleted my music, it may have been overwritten somehow during the process, but I have no idea how!?
Does anyone know of an OS X utility that can restore the files??? Thank you in advance for your help! I will be devastated if I can not restore my library, it has over 9 years of music!
